Kicking Risk into Touch with Cyber Valley experts

Warriors Jake Abbott & Shaun Perry were on hand today to kick home the important message that businesses should be taking Cyber Security seriously.

Experts from borwell, Sutcliffe & Co and Harrison Clark Rickerbys highlighted the current risks for SMEs.  The three presentations gave the delegates advice and information to help reduce the impact of cyber-crime.

A recent UK government report has shown that 87% of small businesses and 93% of large corporations reported a cyber-breach in the past year.  A cyber-breach can cost £35,000 – £65,000 for smaller businesses and as much as £850,000 for large corporations.

The event was one of the first public seminars to be hosted by the new National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) based at the Malvern Hills Science Park in Cyber Valley.  The National Cyber Skills Centre has opened to address the wide skills gap to deliver training in direct response to specific identified industry need, supporting businesses both small and large.

The next seminar will be held on Tuesday 13th May at the National Cyber Security Centre and can be booked by calling Debbie on 01684 585111.
