LEP Business Board
The Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) recently advertised for a number of new recruits to the Business Board. Steve Borwell-Fox is delighted to have been successful with his application to join the Worcestershire LEP. He will be a conduit for businesses in his sector to raise ideas and issues that are relevant to the LEPs business plan, which was presented at the mid-term conference at Sixways on the 9th November.
Steve is looking forward to identifying and supporting initiatives to the newly published Business Plan, which highlights Worcestershire’s USPs, key sectors and strategically important employment sites for new and further development.
I am really fortunate, because we run a business in Defence & Cyber Security, one of the five key sectors, and we are also located on one of the four strategic sites for further expansion, Malvern Hills Science Park. I am looking to employ at least 3-5 more staff in 2013, so hopefully will be contributing further to the economic success of the County.
Steve and the other business board members were welcomed and immediately given homework – a copy of Michael Heseltine’s recent report NO STONE UNTURNED to read, which is all about supporting business growth.
