HR Professionals Conference

HR Professionals Conference

HR Professionals were invited to the new Worcester Arena yesterday, 5th June 2013, for a Conference organised by HW Chamber of Commerce & Hewett Recruitment.

The event was one of the first conferences to be held at the stunning new University of Worcester Arena. Overlooking the river, and close to the award winning Hive building, this 2,000 seat arena will bring some wonderful opportunities to the region and will attract a great range of top-class regional, national and international events to the City.  The space is light and airy, with the latest audio-visual conference equipment.  Friendly staff were on hand to support the HR conference event.

Andrea Borwell-Fox gave a presentation ‘Are your employees cyber savvy?’

Cybercrime is a very real threat and new research shows that cybercrime costs small businesses around £785 million per year as they fall victim to fraud and online crime.  That’s £90,000 per hour.

The audience were shown examples of cyber attacks, and were given advice to implement in their business throughout the employment process.

The key note speaker of the day was:

Kevin Green, CEO of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation with his presentation ‘The new world of work and the impending talent crises’.  Kevin gave the audience his advice on creating a credible brand, an insight into the importance of flexible working, and shared his perception of the attitudes of the Generation Y workforce.
