Annual salary review in line with RPI
We appreciate the cost of living can increase, and we aren’t in the habit of effectively giving our employees a pay cut by holding salaries as the cost of living goes up.

Start with 25 days off per year plus bank holidays. We will also allow you to carry over a reasonable number of unused holidays, just chat with your manager.

Job Description
Are you willing to support the ongoing mission to keep the UK a safe place? Are you able to communicate and contribute your ideas diplomatically into a dynamic team designing, building and supporting operational software tools? If so, we need several Java Software Engineers to join or form Agile Product Development teams of 8-12 skilled engineers. Using the latest Agile processes and development tools, you will rapidly solve problems and create solutions for one of our key Customers, making an impact to UK security and globally too.
Security Clearance
Engineers either need to have relevant security clearances or are able to gain them.

Working Hours
The company offers flexible working hours. This role is office based 4 days per week and 1 day from home.
Package
- Software Engineer £30,000 to £39,000 for candidates with less than 5 years of commercial experience
- Senior Software Engineer £40,000 to £53,500 for candidates with 5-20 years of commercial experience
- Lead Software Engineer £55,000 to £73,000 for candidates with 20+ years of commercial experience
- Team Leader £75,000 for a candidate with 20+ years of commercial experience, experience leading teams of 5-10 engineers, providing pastoral support (weekly meet up or online check-in), reviewing and setting training and personal objectives, performing appraisals, reviewing CVs and supporting the MD with recruitment activities

Work experience
We can offer a one day visit or up to one week unpaid work experience. This offers a Year 10, Year 12, or undergraduate an experience of working with software engineering teams, and seeing what it is like day to day in a small tech business.
Summer placement
After a successful work experience week, candidates are often invited back for a 4-12 week paid summer placement.
This is paid at £20,000 salary plus holiday and all the other benefits the other employees are entitled to.
Industrial placement / year in industry
Ideally suited to undergraduates for their third year. This is paid at £20,000 plus holiday and all the other benefits the other employees are entitled to.
Could also be a Masters student project, paid or unpaid, depending on if the project is related to the company, a customer, or is a pure research based project.
Part-time employment
If you have prior experience in a tech related role before starting university, you may want to work for the company part-time during your degree. You could work 1-2 days per week in a paid capacity.
Post graduate opportunities
After a summer or placement year, many students are offered a 1-2 day per week paid job for their final year, and then automatically go full-time upon graduation.
